Adopting Hidi and Renninger Four Phase Model Interest - Development for Inclusive Education
Abstract
It is argued in this paper that inclusive education may not be attained due to lack of interest on the part of both parents and children. Lack of interest in Western Education can be grouped into two categories: instance of parent sending children to schools but relenting in supporting them (morally and financially) and parent entirely refusing to allow their children to have anything to do with Western Education. In particular, we are focusing on the latter group in this paper. To draw attention of researchers to this problem definitions and essence of interest are discussed and the importance of improving parent’s/children’s interest in school is discussed in this paper. Secondly, the Hidi and Renninger four phase model is used to discuss how interest of parents can be developed towards western education by researchers.
