UTILIZATION OF INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) IN TEACHING AND LEARNING TECHNICAL DRAWING AND MECHANICAL DESIGNS IN NIGERIAN SCHOOLS SYSTEM

Abstract

This paper focused on barriers to effective implementation of ICT curriculum at all levels of Education in Nigeria. It further made some recommendations on how to overcome such barriers. The recommendations are that Government should provide all Technical Drawing teachers the training to become Information Communication Technology compliance, in order to help students learn through computer and other technologies/gadgets: all private and government training institutions involve in training craftsmen, draughtmen, technicians, technologists and engineers should engage in massive training and retraining of teachers in the use of Information and communication Technology. Technical Drawing teachers should be trained on the technique of Computer Aided Drawing in order to help students learn through ICT: Government and schools should encourage Technical Drawing teachers to utilize AutoCAD technique to cater for the diverse learning styles of student in technical drawing classroom and hence, improve their academic achievement and retention of Learning among others.
