Extent of Users Satisfaction with Academic Library Services in Colleges of Education Libraries in North-East, Nigeria

Abstract

This paper examines the extent of Users Satisfaction with the Academic Library
Services in Colleges of Education Libraries in North-East, Nigeria, Survey research
method with questionnaire which assist in the collection of data from the respondents,
questionnaires were self-administered by the researchers in the area under study, the
sample of the study was 707 administered in three colleges of education which are
FCE(T), Gombe, Aminu Sale College of Education, Azare and FCE, Yola, The
findings reveals that (68.1%) average of the respondents were not satisfied with the
library services provided except user education with (72%). The study reveals that the
major challenges facing the libraries are inadequate internet services, reading
materials, staff competencies in providing the services and lack of funds. The study,
equally provide conclusions and recommendations.
